No natural gas here either. We had propane put in right after we bought it to convert the stove to gas. Asked about converting the fireplace, which is in the middle of the house, figuring it would be too expensive. It was actually pretty affordable and only took them half a day to do everything.

Originally wood, converted to gas and then back to wood by us.
Used to have one of those hideous brass 70s glass door/screens. You can see by the char at the top. Basement still has one.

We have a 250 gallon tank buried behind the house to feed the Generac. Becki would love to have a gas range instead of the electric we currently have. Gas company came out and looked at it and said they couldn’t run a line to the kitchen underneath the house.
WTF...there is a line to the living room fireplace which is further away from the tank than the kitchen

Our range is on an outside wall so that was easy. Fireplace is in the middle of the house. They ran a line into the attic and down through a wall to the fireplace. No need to run it under the slab.

I LOVE fire, it may be an addiction, hubs built me a big fire ring/pit on the S side of our house and a fireplace on the N side.
