Default USPS around you...

So how is your local post office?

My local place is rural, has an awesome staff and I can't think of any real issues in over 10 years.
They deliver packages before 7am usually(3 today at 630am) then the mail later. Maybe half dozen times I've received someone else's mail and it's usually the neighbors.
Once years ago the driver wrote "received this way" on a package that was crushed(had tire marks on it).

Now on the other end of that is a post office in Ohio near a friend's house where I stay and help out. Come to find out its where they send the rejects for retraining.
It's almost a daily event mail delivered incorrectly. Packages go to wrong street and houses constantly. I'm at the office once a week bitching, we've even had to get police involved when a driver stole packages.
They have a guy who I lovingly call waterhead who couldn't be a worse employee there, he's either incredibly stupid or screws up on purpose. I sit on the front stoop waiting for him and when something isn't delivered he'll say he already delivered it. I've personally handed him back entire stacks of mail for one of the neighbors.
It's so bad I send packages to a house 45 miles away if they're important and have someone take them to him. I screwed up and sent some parts to fix his car to his house last week and they showed 2 days after said delivered.
I've had to sign him up for everything electronic since bills don't show(he has brain damage and zero memory alot of times so forgets to pay them if not in mail) and he's missed important govt disability papers.

So how's your local place?

Rural and very good. Our little town does not have its own post office we are served by a PO about 20 miles down the road. He has about a 25 mile route most of it along the lakeside roads. Normally our mail is picked up at the box or delivered between 12 and 1pm.

I have a very nasty, hilly, curvie driveway about 3/8 of a mile long & bad in the winter and if we have a package he drives up fast and easy, driving from the wrong side of his car naturally. He drives his own car! We give him a decent tip every Christmas.

No complaints here at all. A few times we've gotten mail for someone else, but it's always been the same address # but on a nearby street. I just put it back in the box.

I subscribe to the postal service's Informed Delivery Daily Digest, which sends an email with photos of each piece of mail for the day, and tracking #s for any packages. One time, the tracking info said a package had been delivered, but it wasn't here. I called the P.O., & they said no problem, they'd check their GPS info (!) to see where the carrier was when he scanned it as "delivered". The next day, a guy (I think it was the Postmaster) showed up at our front door with the package & apologies. I was impressed.

90% good, 10% bad. I've lived here 16 years and since day one they have regularly mis-deliver the mail. Talking to the letter carrier does no good, because it's a different person every day - which is undoubtedly part of the problem. HTF is a letter carrier supposed to learn his route when it changes every day? What idiot Postmaster thinks this kind of rotation is a good idea?

Ours is pretty good. No complaints really. Occasionally they'll leave a package that's too big for the mailbox near my garage door and I have to look before I back out or I'll drive over it (happened once.) They do this because they can drive up my driveway and just sorta toss it out, then back down it and leave. They don't like to walk.

Our suburb has grown to ~50k but USPS here mostly still has a small town feel. We've had the same carrier for a number of years and our delivery is consistently good - only occasion mistakes. The substitute carrier is more prone to mistakes but that's not surprising.

The USPS office is decent but plenty of stereotypical behavior there, especially during the Christmas season.

The Post Office is ok. The carrier for my hood sucks.

Multiple envelopes that say DO NOT FOLD are always folded in half.
Mail for neighbors in my box
Sometimes there at 11:00AM sometimes 4:00PM
State something has been delivered, but it doesn't show up until the next day.

RFD for me, very seldom go to a P.O., get stamps through post deliverer, if I have to mail a large package, will go to a Mail Stop before I go to a P.O. May be a little more expensive, but the service is great and don't have to deal with the snarky & my shit don't stink I'm better than you gov't workers.

Regular postal lady does a fine job, if a package doesn't fit in mailbox, she'll drive up and leave it on the back porch, along with the mail. When she's off, her replacement dick (smug little shit) will drive up with a package, drop it off, then go back to the mailbox with the mail. I asked, "just leave the mail here too" (it's in a protected area). He just mumbles. I said, "where's your common sense?" He's doing it now, still a dick.

Oddly enough, 2 daze ago our old route man showed up, so I said hello as usual when I see him, he was called back in after a few weeks off, as they needed help, and he announced it was his last day.....retiring.....so we wait for the next guy who will be #3 regular/usual guy on this street, in the 22 years I been here......

and so just an hours ago I got home from the PO, mailing a package to my kids, and so in the lines out the door, at the counter with only 3 folks working, there was this stupid couple of nitwits, somehow allowed to be taping up a box, accounting for contents, and addressing it, all at the expense of the organized folks waiting in line, so the PO was there catering to their stupidity......

I commented about it on the way outta the joint.....immediate agreement with those in line......

Rural, excellent drivers, abhorrent office employees.

Drivers are polite, friendly, take care of packages, etc.

Employees behind the counter at the office are slow, lazy, worthless ****-bags who I've seen treat people very rudely. Luckily I need to go to the post office about once every other year for some reason.
