Leaving for PA this evening to get a new Corvette
Driving up and trailering back... assuming the car is as represented and checks out. I was able to speak to the original selling dealer and the previous owner (who's had over 15 corvettes). Carfax and Autocheck are all clean... looks to be mint and stock. Plus it's one of 3 red/tan/tan 2001+ 6-speeds I could find in the entire country.
The car is a 2003 50th Anniversary with 43k miles and all options other than having the base suspension. Driving up to stay w/ WKMCD in the DC area tonight then up to PA on Saturday AM. The car will get basic intake/exhaust and some minor cosmetic stuff. The cheesey stickers will be the first thing to go. Eventually when a buddy (he knows who he is!) wants to part with his Fikse FM5s in Z06 sizes I plan on snagging those.... other than that I'm keeping this one on the mild side. A few pics - ~Brian

Looks like a nice car, but I am a little confused (although it doesn't take much). You said it is one of 3 red/tan/tan 2001 +6 speed. Then you state it is a 2003 anniversary. What year is it?

I think he was saying it was one of 3 red/tan/tan 2001+(as in 01 or newer) 6 speeds and it is an 03.
I'm no expert but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Don't tell my wife, she thinks I was working late.

They rejected 2 of my offers and admitted they had too much in the car... the owners would rather hold the car until srping/summer in hopes of finding a buyer to at least break even. |

Car looks great! Best of luck and fun with it.
I can't help but ask, what happened to this: Originally Posted by Cobra4B I'm considering having the front end painted again so it's all one color and putting the car up for sale. Don't care to own a project car anymore and I'd like to go back to school for a masters. |

Got it... 7am in West Virginia My charriot aka "thunder thighs" (Truck is a Thunder Road edition) Windmills.... they look huge in person, never seen one before. Car checked out... loaded it up... Crashing in Richmond for the night... too tired to make it home as the energy drinks are wearing off. The car is in fantastic condition... the underside and frame looks new, it's never seen a PA winter or a winter of any kind or even much bad weather at all. The interior is mint and the top is perfect. The only bad thing is I figured out that the rear bumper had been replaced and painted. Paint match and quality is perfect, but when you open the trunk you can see the paint peeling where the screws used to hold it on upset the paint. Factory paint doesn't do this, whoever painted it neglected to properly prep this area. Got the guy to knock $250 off of the price. If you didn't have a history in insurance adjusting or you didn't work in a paint shop you'd never know... the seller had no clue and I'm sure the original owner paid cash for it, thus not showing on the carfax or autocheck. -Brian

Got back yesterday AM... all went well. Drive the car around yesterday evening in the rain and drove it to work today. Really liking it... will make a wonderful almost daily driver. Don't plan on driving it in truly horrid weather.
