I don't like to be the precursor of bad news, but here's the way I see it: Our Country used to pride itself on its can-do, dogged determination, pull-yourself-up-by-the-bootstraps, make-it-on-your-own attitude. I think that is forever lost. America now thinks that now, "We should ask not what we can do for our Country..we should ask what our Country can do for us."

The present presidential administration understands that well, and it has capitalized on it. It knows that a large percentage of people in this Country doesn't want to help themselves--they want Government to do it for them. It is simply an entitlement mentality--nothing more, nothing less. This administration has fueled their prejudice against the "haves" versus the "have nots"...simple class warfare. "Rich" people have a "duty" to help us.

Yes, this thread sounds like pure politics...but I submit that it transcends that. This thread is not merely Democrats against Republicans. It's about our changing Country. My secretary feels that she is entitled to "free" health care. I pay her very well, and she could afford to buy her own...but she feels that the rest of us are responsible for taking care of her. Is it because we have been brought up with Medicaid, food stamps, free housing, other welfare?

Tomorrow we will know the answer to my question.
