I spoke with the judges and they say close enough.

The lights are really just lights in a ceiling fan. I set my old point and shoot Canon for a 1 second exposure and tossed it in the air spinning it. Fudged a little by adding the purple with Gimp. Won't trying this with the 5d3.

Google "camera tossing" for some very interesting shots.
