I don't get cooking with so many spices.. Guess it's to cover the flavor of the rat meat they're trying to feed you.

To be serious for a sec.; I bet a lot of them was eaten during the early times of this country....and....during the great depression.

France currently has nutria rat as a delicacy...this state promoted them and tried to get people here to like the flavor, and that would help control the population of nutrias.

Didn't work...though a few people do eat em.

Are devastating to agriculture here; so, open season all year, last I heard was $4.00/$5.00 per tail to prove you killed one, and, most meat used for crawfish bait and dog food.

I never knew muskrat was a thing until this dude told me. I was like ew, really? Yup. Gotta eat. There’s muskrat. Kill it and eat it. Said he hadn’t done it in a long time but when he was a kid on the eastern shore he ate muskrat. Looked it up. One description said it tastes like slightly spoiled meat. Must take some work to get it to taste decent.

I believe just about anything can taste good if cooked right.
I could cook a boot so good; you'd go home and throw bricks at your wife.

The people I know that eat nutria said it tastes like beef roast...guess it's because nutrias are herbivores.

No idea what muskrats eat.
