Default so I went out to the grocery store during the noon hour

  • parking lot was absolutely packed
  • store was limiting the number of people inside
  • about half the people were wearing masks of some kind
  • most people were just standing around in the middle of the aisles staring at the shelves like dumbasses making it impossible to "social distance"

Just did my second grocery pick up this week (to get the rest of the items they didnt have the first trip). Talked to the dude from the passenger window, they loaded my truck and we never got any closer than the width of the truck. It was great.

Wife and I went to the supermarket yesterday. Out of a lot of items, but surprisingly, they had plenty of paper towels and toilet paper. They were out of chicken breasts, and hamburger meat, that are the main staples of our dog's diet, as well as our own. I got out early this morning to attend "geezer hour", from 7-8 am you can only go in if you are 55+ years old. They had plenty of chicken and beef.

But isn't that bullshit? First, I'm supposed to be staying home, but had to go to the store TWICE instead of my usual once. Second, apparently only the old people can buy chicken and hamburger. Don't have anyone in your household over 55? Too bad. Hope they have some canned tuna still on the shelves when you get there.

As others have said: what a shit show.

I had to go to the store for some things my wife wanted. It looked like a typical day but with most people wearing masks.

Shelves were mostly full with limits of only one pack of toilet paper and paper towels.

If it gets to the point where I would need a mask, I'm going out in a WWII german gas mask.
