Make sure you thank the Dr. for being so candid and forthcoming with info. We need more Dr.s like that. Good luck .

I went to the Sports medicine Dr yesterday concerning this knot on my left Achilles tendon. He says we can operate but it's a 3-6 month recovery or I can continue to walk on it until it either goes away or ruptures. If it ruptures he says surgery would be mandatory. It's been there for about 9-12 months now so I doubt it's going away. I can't be out for 6 months, there would be no guarantee that my position here at work would still be here.

Could you stay up there? I feel better when all the Yankees are where they are supposed to be.

Glad you had a better experience.

Too many docs out there to not find one that you are 100% comfortable with and trust, especially a specialist like a cardiologist.

If I need a life saving surgery, I could really care less about bedside manner, I just want the best surgeon putting his hands on me.

Outside of that, communication/listening is probably the single most important skill GOOD providers should have.

Sounds like your decision is made. Maybe it won't rupture until you can retire. Good luck Jetz.

p.s. Safe travels!
We begin Phase 2 Monday

Which just means restaurants, bars, casinos can now allow 75% of occupancy and groups of 50. It's kinda vague as these are suggestions only.

Under phase two, restaurants, bars, gyms and some other businesses can open up to 75 percent capacity. The governor’s directive increases group size limitations. Bullock says to avoid groups larger than 50 people when physical distancing can’t happen. Social distancing is always recommended.

Can you give a better description of the "knot"? Do you know how you got it? Have you had tendonitis in your achillies tendon in the last year or three?

The new doc that I saw will not be the surgeon. A specialist in Birmingham, Alabama will do the procedure if it is indeed necessary.
