Default Mustang for a Cause

I agreed to do 4 details for a fund raiser at work. Wound up doing two Mustangs. This one was at Horsepower Solutions getting ready to head to Bowling Green tomorrow for a magazine shoot and contest.

I went over to finish up the car ronight and he was doing his first pull after rebuilding his 4.6 liter twin turbo with meth kit. Check out the numbers at ~29 pounds of boost on his stongest pull.

Yeah, I don't know diddly about turbo tech, but he was trying to see what he could do for the dyno portion of the competition this week. I thought that was a lot on a new motor too.

I will say it is something to see what 1000 hp does to the frame of a car even tied down to the dyno.

Impressive numbers. I stopped by Horsepower Solutions looking for some parts and didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling from them. From what I am hearing they are pretty much Mustang guys. What did you think of their shop?

Their shop is pretty impressive. The owner is Brad, used to own Poquoson Seafood and race Pro Street? TransAm. He opened this when he retired to work on his stuff and it turned into a business for him. He had a 2006 Z06 but all the Mustang guys wanted to spend $$$ so he went that way.

Mustangs are their game, he races an orange Mustang now. I watched them rebuild his motor during the past week or so. His has a Kenny Bell blower? and puts out abour 650hp.

They have a couple of 4 post lifts, a dyno, and two post lift and a ton of room filled up with Mustangs, trailers, rigs to pull 'em, and a rail dragster or two.

Good guys when you get to know them. The owner and his top guy Josh, seem to know their @#$% when it comes to turbos and super charging, they had a 1000hp Supra that was cool as hell in there. Brad says he works with Chuck at Abacus on his motor work so he can't be all bad! If you want to go by sometime let me know and we can run by together. They work on some Vettes, they were working on a SC'ed C5 Saturday and do some LS tuning.

Good to know, sounds like my first impression was off base. If you are heading their way sometime let me know I would like to check out their operation. I understand why they would work on Mustangs, seems like most of the Vette guys leave them stock, nothing wrong with that but it is hard for a performance shop to make a living.

If you say they are cool, I have no doubt they are cool, thanks for letting us (me) know.
