The bottom line is teaching is a shitty job. Two of my best friends are married to former teachers. One taught for around 5 years, had a kid, went back for awhile and then quit. The other just had a kid and is quitting after this year.

The one who just quit has been going back to college for about a year now because she knew she was going to change careers whether they had a kid or not.

Now every kid has some special condition you have to accommodate, you have a crazy parent or two to deal with, etc... All of this for the wonderful salary of around $30,000.

You can work as a secretary at a lot of places and make that salary (if not more) with similar benefits with A LOT less stress and work.

Not all teaching jobs are like that. My wife's mother taught for 30 years and was making over $100k when she retired last year. My sister-in-law is also a teacher in Plano, she's been there 3 years (just got her masters last summer) and makes over $60k.

The average teacher in Texas makes over $48k, and has full benefits. That is nothing to dismiss.

Did she work in Texas?

A lot of Oklahoma teachers have left Oklahoma for Texas because the pay is significantly higher. I even know a few who retired from Oklahoma schools as soon as they were eligible and then when and taught in Texas.

She did. Plus she was in one of the 3 counties with private social security.

Texas is middle of the road, but Oklahoma is almost dead last.

I'm just shocked that there is a pay grade for that. I have had college professors that hardly make half that Time to put in a transfer request for the Texas region once I graduate

That's the story I've heard many times around here. They were also having to purchase items for their classroom on that crappy salary.

she did that in the begining, but as the years rolled on she stopped. Its a shame, thats all she wanted to do was teach, had a masters degree and now its all for not.

Most teaching jobs around here start at 40K and the average salary in the districts around here are 75-80K. Some of the more wealthier districts do have teachers making 100K.

As for this teacher, she is cute... got an 'above' average in looks... She could always be a porn star... she has a body thats more in tune for that then 'modeling'.

The avg salary where I went to college is almost $69k.
