Default Frozen shoulder.

No, not the cold shoulder your wives may give you.

Anyone have this? Any OTC fixes?

My should range of motion is all jacked up. It has improved over the last two weeks, but putting on or taking off a pullover shirt is like getting stabbed with a knife.

So far:

Blue Emu
Icy Hot
Alieve
Aspirin

Alieve is about the most effective, but says to limit to 1 every 12 hours.

Ice or heat and a shoulder brace... I have learned to not stretch arms over head and put shirts on without hurting one or the other shoulder. Once it flares bad it's a week or two taking easy and brave for me.
Mortins work decent and i have that Voltaren(sp) over counter use occasionally although they say no shoulder use.

My wife had it, she went to physical therapy which knocked it out in a month or two. I can ask her what the exercises she did were if you want.

Same here. It hasn’t bothered her for a while now.

I use Voltaren. OTC NSAID topical creme. Works quickly and well. Stretching my shoulder helps too. Move it to where it hurts and hold that position against a wall or something. About 30 sec once or twice seems to help loosen the affect muscle. Yes, shoulder pain sucks.

I got a cortisone shot that did nothing.
Full spectrum CBD made a huge difference... unexpectedly.

I have found CBD to make a huge difference in combatting my chronic pain. Had a friend endlessly telling me it would help, and after nearly a decade I tried it. A week or so in the majority of my bad pain was gone. I can sleep again and even walk short diatnces without terrible pain and limping. It takes a little while to get enough in your system to start helping, and if I forget it a few days I can really feel the pain.

Cortisone shots skyrocketed my blood sugar levels so bad that I became insulin dependant. Not happy about that at all. Not to mention it had zero effect on the pain, but made me sick as a dof otherwise.

I routinely have a steroid shot in each shoulder every three months. Something to consider. That is the duration that seems to work for me. I never really hurt it, just getting fkn old.

You hadn't brough this up before that I recall, did you hurt yourself? Dosage doesn't sound right. I just read 2 tablets to start, then one every 8 hours.

You should take a couple before bed, then one in the morning and then on. PT is a good idea

Wow, I guess I've been lucky with steroid injections.

I've had them in both shoulders over the years and each time they worked like magic for me.

And then last year I really managed to fk up my right shoulder and had to have surgery to put my rotator cuff back together....I guess cortisone wouldn't have helped that.

physical therapy is needed. Myshoulder is permanently frozen, but not as bad as it could be. Swedish massage for relaxation ( a real massage and not the asian You want extra massageee) helps a lot, too.

It appears to be a result of Covid. Many years ago I had a shoulder issue and got a cortisone shot and it never came back. After I recovered from Covid, this showed up and it has been off and on ever since. I did get a shot again and a few days of steroid pills and it was fine for a while.

Now it came back. More on the left than right. I would put it in a position where it hurt and repeat that motion and by the 5th or 6th time, it would subside and loosen up. That stopped working. I'm afraid of tearing something so I have been limiting motion...which is exactly where frozen shoulder comes from. Reducing motion until you can't move.

I'm talking about the virus, not the vaccine. I won't put that poison in my system ever...not willingly.
