Never understood why anyone would want a pistol chambered for a rifle caliber. What's the theory there? If you miss the target you can still set it on fire with the huge muzzle flash?

Also don't understand why the government should care if a person puts a butt stock on a pistol. WTAF? If anything it's still less lethal than a long barreled gun due to the pathetic muzzle velocity. Control freaks gone nuts

Never mind the "Tommy Tactical" factor... it's about improved lethality in a smaller than long gun package. A 5.56 round out of a 7 inch barrel does a shit ton more damage than a .22 magnum from a 5 inch tube. A .308 out of a 10 inch barrel will be so much more devastating than a .357 there is no comparison.
Extra power means increased reach as well if contact happens at more than "social" distances.
Add in that these things are maneuverable in automobiles, and fit inside things like racquet cases or guitar cases and things start to look a bit more reasonable.

Here, they just implemented new law. Any "unauthorized" carrying or discharge of a firearm within 1000 ft of a school an automatic felony. No plea bargains down to misdemeanor

Sounds like burglars and home invaders will start concentrating on homes and businesses near schools, where it will be illegal to defend yourself.

Yeah, I understand all that. Still wouldn't buy one myself... And according to this video I just watched I'm not alone

I don't own one either, but then again I can regularly hit clay targets at 100 yards with a 1911 in .45ACP... I practice that shot. If range exceeds about 50 yards on a man sized target I prefer a long gun; inside that range a pistol or revolver is OK by me.

Crappy that businesses are being forced to operate that way. I've always thought guns should be made to order like cars. You call up the factory, place your order, add your desired mods, and wait for them to build it and ship it. While there are some that do that...it's not common.
