Lame. Both of you guys. Just Lame.
Yadkin, you didn't answer my question: did you see the Car Wizard's latest video on the 2.0 engine used in your car and in Audi's and VW's? Pretty grim stuff. |

Do you know the percentage of people who don't maintain their cars? Or do it poorly? It's huge. Miss a few oil changes, use crappy oil, or the wrong viscosity and you will easily mess up the hydraulic tensioners. I never miss an oil change. In fact I change it every 5000 miles. Mobile One. My hands and tools, not some high school dropout at Jiffy. |

Your oil choice and regimen may well allow you to avoid this entirely. We shall see if you keep it another 30-50k miles. My bet is you'll likely make it. Been watching the timing chain on my '83 Hi Lux every valve adjustment and so far so good at 275k miles. When it gets sloppy I'll change it and plug along. On the Car Wizard, not only did the local dealer have tons of chain kits for the 2.0, but also over 90 rebuilt heads in stock for that engine. Lots of bent valves and jumped chains. |

Mobile One? WTF is that? You might be an engineer, but not a car guy. |

I was at a cruise in once and a gal had a table set up selling stuff. She asked me if she could talk to me about essential oils. I told her that the only oil that was essential to me was 5W-30. |

I saw a video the other day about the fuse panel for an Audi. They didn't state the model or year. To get to it, you had to remove the cowl panel, the washer fluid bottle, and the engine computer. A total shit-show.
The fuse panel on my Macan is located under a panel in the trunk. Very easy to access. From my experience, this car is made to be repairable. Unlike most of the FWD crap out there. |

Porsche owners tend towards DIYers and from what I've seen with mine they are designed with that in mind. |
