C6 flags.

Default Another big day...

I'm going to save the captions and play by play. Bondo, sanding, more bondo, more sanding, blowing, cleaning and PRIMER!!! If you want to know about anything specific, let me know. Lee does the paint work...I do the mechanical mostly and help with sanding and prepping. The side marker areas still need work...it's a beast trying to get those to look perfect. The primer will get us that much closer to color...

Last one...we're going to let it dry over the weekend. This is about 5 coats of primer.

C6 Flag or No flag at all. I favor No Flag. This bad boy is your vision
not the factory.

Small update: The bumper is blocking out very nice. Left some primer on the nose to show what primed vs sanded looks like. Still need some more fill in the side marker areas. We'll get there.

I'm slightly concerned about something and would like the communities opinion. Strakes or no strakes? There is supposedly a HUGE downforce increase when running the strakes (large end plates) on the front of ZR1s. To the tune of 400 lbs at speed (~205 mph). They call this the "ZTK aero kit." Non-ztk cars have the "low-wings" in the back, softer spring rates, different tires and MR tuning to accommodate. My concern is that I run essentially a "low wing" on the back of my car, definitely less DF than a high ZR1 wing. If I run the strakes, I may introduce an aero imbalance that the car becomes super nose heavy (or light-assed) at speed. Now granted, I never drive my car on the track or at 200 mph on the street, but I occasionally kick her up to the 160s in Mexico, but that's not all the time. Thoughts?

If you’ll never drive it over 160 I don’t know that it matters. I road raced my C6 at that speed and never had an issue. There’s a HUGE difference between 160 and 200+.

Progressing slowly this week. Friend had two issues over the weekend that prevented any more work (and I was tied up too). Look for an update Wed/Thu time frame.

Marker light areas cleaned up. Another coat of primer to dry. After this, we'll probably throw on some guide coat and do one more light sanding session. Color is coming soon. Going to put in more time this weekend.

Could only put a couple hours in on it today. But multiple hands make less work. After the guide coat and multiple passes with some 320 grit and then a clean red scotchbrite, she's smoother than a baby seal butt. However, the left marker area still need some trim work. The right marker is looking damn good. They're almost there. We should be in color next week.

This is how today started. In primer...again. But cleaned up...ready for final fitting and prep. Once we fitted it up and located any last trouble areas, we got to work.

And...I decided on which flags to use...
