This might be one solution to the nation’s immigration problem: Donald Trump haters on Twitter say they will flee the country if he becomes president.

In our favorite social media analysis so far this year, the digital analytics firm Luminoso scoured 4.5 million Trump-related tweets from Aug. 7 through Sept. 9 and found about 4% of them were people promising to leave the country if Trump wins the White House.

Here are the top destinations in those 200,000 “intent to move” tweets:

•Mexico: 75,000.

Shouldn't that be 12 million ?

The type of people that would leave if Trump was elected are the same people that think Alaska and Hawaii are foreign countries... not surprising.

75k to Mexico?

Ol' girl Carole Simpson's not moderating tonight's GOP debate is she? If so, is Trump on tap, too? He will absolutely barbecue her if the snarky quips and comments start flying.....

I've watched previous years debates due to hearing what the candidates had to say and their body language. Yet, this year I look forward to the debates due to Trump actually saying something relevant and interesting. He just doesn't spit out a bunch of political speak and sound bites like many of the previous years debates.

The guy's got backbone, I'll give him that. But I predict the next 6 months will tell the tale for Trump. At some point, he's gotta' come up with something substantive to put on the table in terms of economic development, reform, foreign policy, etc.. and not just snarky sound-bites and jabs. If he's smart, he's already put together a brain trust of advisers to help him maintain his lead in the early polls.

Yup, Texas will secede from the Union if Obama is elected to a second term.

Trump is an idiot who has no interest in actually improving this country. He is only spouting radical garbage because he thinks it might actually help him improve his own financial situation. That guy represents every negative stereotype foreigners have towards us and it's embarrassing.

A wall. A fcuking wall?! Who the f- does this guy think he is, the German Democratic Republic or Qin Shi Huang.

I would have figured that the people who thought Alaska and Hawaii were not part of the US are Trump's key demographic.

It's working because the "news" media is essentially part of the entertainment industry; it's there to sell commercials. They're covering him because it draws eyes, which increases ad revenue. He's popular because he's everywhere people look; it's a positive feed-back loop.

What it's causing though is an over emphasis on one subject, immigration; which is somewhere near the bottom of a list of problems that really matter. But now every candidate is focused on it, 'cause it's easy to get worked up over, and people are falling for it.

Trump may or may not be a narcissistic man with shit for a brain and a very questionable filter between his brain and mouth. However, I suspect many people are just fed up with the usual Democratic/Republican ball where the partners change but the dance remains more or less the same. Now, can he be a great POTUS? Who knows really but one things is for sure. He can't really fcuk up any worse than the recent douche that bows to foreign leaders and supports racial tension among many other country destroying tactics.

I love what he is doing. He is bringing up issues in ways that most politicians wouldn't dare. He is speaking his mind. He is not caving to public or media pressure. There isn't even a hint of PC in him. I have never in my life seen a politician act like anything other than a politician. It's a refreshing change in a way. Trying to dismiss him and the nonstop "Trump is done..." comments are hilarious. He's not done, yet.

Yet...

Personally, I believe Trump will eventually say or do something that costs him before the time comes to pull the lever. He's running full speed blindfolded through a minefield. I think it's only a matter of time before he takes a wrong step and hits one. I also think that somebody... Cruz?... will be smart enough to jump into his wake and present themselves in a similar but slightly more "Presidential" (don't make me define it) manner. I don't believe Trump will end up with the nomination, I don't believe that he will run 3rd party, but I do believe that whoever he ends up endorsing will be in the White House.

Only time will tell.

...and let's face it, he couldn't really be any worse than the pathetic piece of shit we have now.

Back when Trump first threw his hat in the ring I said here in VBOT, the two parties would neutralize him. Let's hope speaking your mind doesn't end too soon.

Maybe he could jolt or cajole congress out of they're sickening quagmire of bipartisan bickering that's stunted any opportunity for progress over the last decade or more.

The only politician I can think of that compares to Trump is Sen. Joseph McCarthy during his "Red Menace" heyday. And that was during the 1950's, way before I was born....
