Pontiac Silverdome
Holy Shnikes The Silverdome just sold for $583,000! What a friggin steal. Sure it's in Pontiac and all that but $583,000? Wow that's cheap considering it cost in the neighborhood of 55 million to build back in 1975.
Oh yeah... Barry Sanders still kicks arse!

That is unreal, I agree. Gary could've bought it and named it The Vette Dome. |

You can't get parts for it now. Monsanto stopped making the fabric roof panels a while ago. The interior wasn't constructed to Code for exterior exposure, so peeling off the roof an making it an open air stadium isn't feasible.
Something is very wrong with that offer -- aside from the fact that many homes in the area sell for more. The $1.5M Pontiac claims to spend per year wouldn't be relevant to someone who plans to raze the building for the 37 acres of land. The fact that this was the highest of four offers (when prior offers were in the $17M range) says something is rotten in Pontiac. |
