We simply cannot stick wood in the ground in this state. Folks do it and they pay the price. You guys are so lucky.

The ONLY wood acceptable for ground contact/penetration is the real CCA treated timber. And only available as pilings and rough cut timber for dock or stilt home construction. Dimensional lumber used to be available in CCA, we can thank the EPA weenies for that demise. |

Lumber is pressure treated from the outside, it penetrates the wood some but does not entirely treat the member thus the problem. I have seen the centers eaten out of wood pilings and heavy timbers.

the good CCA pilings are green all the way through. When we built the beach house...we cut...notched...and drilled the crap out of them...no white wood was found.

Looking Good!
IMHO, I would rethink the tile and go with 2 part epoxy floor with no chips. If you actually USE your garage to work on things the race deck is a PITA. If you just park your already cleaned car on it, it will work out fine. JMHO, YMMV. |

It works great considering there is no insulation/drywall yet.
The intake/filter is on the back of the unit where I left about 10" of clearance, and the exhaust you've seen in the pix. On a 95* afternoon it took about an hour to drop 10 degrees on HIGH. Still pretty warm up in the storage area though. LOL |

Wish it was mine. The garage (detached) at my lake house is a piece of crap......yours would be perfect. I just don't want to spend the money for a new one.
