New to me project, reliving the past.
Today is the official start of my latest project.
Will probably take 2 to 3 years, depending mostly upon family medical situation, but here goes. 1976 base model (L48 block, 76k miles) with power brakes (pedal is almost to the floor), am/fm radio (fm band dont work), and 4 speed trans. Has newer bolts in the exhaust manifold, so may have had headers, or perhaps heads changed, at one time. No Catalytic converter, but a "Y" pipe B4 and after its location. Targa mufflers et-al 1984ish. Newer carb, distributor and manifold. Going to dig deeper as time permits, and I have copious amounts of that That's it. Cleaned the engine compartment up, engine will be my last task in the project, so I want it clean for whatever comes. Previous owner bought complete seats in black, but I'll replace the covers with the original buckskin color, and re-dye the console also. Ripped out the carpeting today, but snapped a few pix before I started. Carpet is new, but because this was a barn kept car, it smells horrible. (something died in there, but I cant find it, yet. I shampooed it, but if the smell persists, I'll get a new set. I had a '76 back in 1990, and regret selling it for an '85 back in 1996. Sold the -85 after my wife was issued here death notice last October. Driving this monstrosity home yesterday put a smile on my face for the 1.5hr trip home. I sweat my butt off, but man was it fun. WTF said you can never go back. Wife liked it when she got a look at it today. This will give me something to look forward to accomplish. Hang on for the ride |

Looks like a fun project. My most recent Vette was a '76, L82, 4spd.
Good luck! |

Looks great and a fun project!
Lucky to find one with good bumpers. I don't believe they survive very well on those cars. |

Nice that it has painted side mirrors when many I've seen from that era had the bare metal mirrors.

I crawled under it yesterday and noticed one of the 5mph rear bumper shocks is leaking, so it must have taken a good hit. |

Sold it to a buddy at work. He was T-boned by a PU truck that ran a red light. It torn the front end off to the fire wall. He escaped with seatbelt burns! Always loved the full frame rails protecting the occupants. |

That car looks pretty straight. Busted fan shroud, but that's pretty common on C3's. 4 Speed is a MAJOR plus. Neat car!

Looked it up, 4 spd was a $2100.00 option. Pretty hefty price adder on a ~$7k car. https://www.corvsport.com/1976-c3-corvette/ Until I started looking again, I never thought much about it, but manuals are quite pricey vs the autos. Generalization on the prices, but I couldn't find a manual that wasn't at least $5k more than a comparable auto. |

FM not working may be as simple as the antenna being disconnected.

Nice find!
I’ll bet you a dozen donuts the dead thing is a mouse or a rat inside the heater core. |
