Ok, here's a serious question....It's about golf. And no John doesn't play often so that's not a problem. Why do men play golf and then get so mad, frustrated, ill, etc. because that didn't play well? I don't understand playng a game that makes you furious. Why do something that only makes you mad?

some people need to win more than others. If you are not doing good at golf and you want to, you are losing.

I myself don't give a ratz about a competitive game. Don't know why, I am just that way.

If you don't keep score it's a fun day.

Men need to find out the pecking order in any group. Low score wins in golf.

That's an easy one: We don't like losing, or more precisely, we don't like not being able to do something. Ever. We don't care if it's not a sport we really shouldn't be playing because we suck at it. The challenge is there...so we take it. We figure that if we work at it enough we'll master it. Just like chasing women.

Best advice I ever got about anger and golf was from a guy I played with a couple of times. He was a scratch golfer (played on college team, won club championship, etc). After a particularly bad shot I rather aggressively grounded my club. He just looked at me and said "Paul, you dont play this game well enough to be angry when when you make a bad shot"
I have tried to remember that every time I feel myself starting to get angry at the way I am playing

Your scratch golfer must have been female. That's must too wise advice to be coming from a man.

She almost fainted. The guys with me played their parts, acting like body guards. The guy in the car was glaring at me. They drove off and we all just about pissed ourselves laughing.
That sounds like a lot of fun...

I had the same problem. Except that I always signed "Crusty the Clown"

In the limo thing, we had rented a limo with another couple to go to a Monday Night Football game in KC. We had the windows down in the back and at a stop light two women next to us did a double take and got out of their car, holding a notepad and a pen, and gushed "Would you sign your autograph Mr. Segal!?!" Then the other chick saw a person sitting next to me and asked who he was. His real name was Phil so I said "Oh, that's Phil Collins." They both made loud squealing noises and we signed "Steven Segal" and "Phil Collins" and handed the notepad back. I imagine somewhere they have that piece of paper framed.
When we first moved to the Saint Louis area ten years ago, I had a couple of people tell me that I looked a lot like Mike Martz (head coach of STL Rams at the time). As the Rams went down the toilet I started getting a little concerned when people would look at me trying to decide if I was him. Always wondered if some a-hole would try taking a swing at me or something

I've never had a problem listening to a woman.
Like all good men you have to know the key words that you can throw in to the conversation at any time.

You know like: "really" or "wow" or "unbelievable".
This way you can continue fantasizing about what she would look like in a Cheerleader outfit or those knee high stockings.

If you ask a female why she got divorced, she can spend hours explaining all the faults her husband had, the emotional difficulties, etc.

Ask any man why he got divorced and you will get the same three word answer: "She went nuts."

Years ago I listened to Dr. Laura talking about her book, "The Proper Care And Feeding Of Your Husband". Bought it, read it then gave it to my wife. Dr. Laura pretty much says everything that's been said in this thread, except that like a woman Dr. Laura figured out how to say the same thing fifty different ways. After all she wrote it for women to understand how simple men really are.

Do that and your man will be happy to conquer the world for you. Or so Dr. Laura says.

I happen to agree, how about you?

I haven't read the book, so it's hard to say if I agree. Maybe if you post the old naked pictures of her it would help me decide....

Speaking for me, I play golf to socialize with my buddies and get outside. I am pretty bad at it, but it is the one thing I can do that I am not competitive about. Whenever one of my fellow players criticizes my game I show them a Stupid Vette Tricks video or a picture of me with my championship trophy
