Finally going to pick up the 37/38 Chevy gasser and I cant sleep! Guess I'll have a couple cups of coffee and hit the road early. Cant get there too early as the Uhaul place doesn't open until 10 AM and it's only a 6 hour ride to Stone Mt. from here...

Learned a trick off a guy 50 years ago in boot camp. As you're laying there on your back hold your arms straight up toward the ceiling and keep them there until they tire. Only takes a few short minutes, then bring them down and get comfortable again. It's the last thing you'll remember before waking up in the morning. Works like a charm.

When I first saw the guy doing this I thought it was some kind of strange religious practice

Asked him about it the next day. Apparently his father taught it to him.

Well I left at 4AM and got home around 19:45. What a PIA! Car was no where near ready to be loaded on to the trailer. Front brakes were locked, the roller wheels were an old set of 80's Z28 wheels that were the right lug pattern but would not fit over the front wheel hubs. Luckily she had a friend there who was a really good guy, who worked with a grinder to widen the hole enough to clear the hubs. But then....being in hilly Stone Mountain....there was no way to get the car down the VERY steep driveway. So I had to wait over an hour for a flat bed tow truck to come an pluck it out the garage. I worked for over 2 hours getting the car and parts ready to travel in the 95 degree humid weather under a spider web infested vehicle that has not been moved since the late 70's....

BUT...know what....it was all worth it....they were a very nice family and the helper, Denny, was a great guy and a big hot rod enthusiast himself.

The only other incident was when I pulled into thugville gas station near Atlanta when one of the locals proceeded to back straight into the front of my Jeep...No way I was gonna wait to do a report. Besides, he hit my bull bar and caused no damage thank God. So I looked at it and said WE GOOD....you could see the relief on his face...proly had no ins anyways....and here I am with a butt load of hunerts in cash in my pocket...I figured if I find any other damage I will claim it on my comprehensive insurance as a parking lot hit....

Ill take some better pics tomorrow after I wash the dirt off...
