what you need is something to occupy your time, something to release your anger...

50 years ago, back in college, a classmate/dorm buddy was in B screwal with me.....and so in Economics/Marketing back then the Profs would talk of a Marginal Propensity.....at what price point would a customer buy a product or NOT buy it.....metering the 'Change in Inclination'.....

SO my buddy came up with....a HIGH MPPO......as a dorm room funny that for some odd reason has been a conversational 'thing' with me since then....

High Marginal Propensity to get PISSED OFF!!!!!!

Lemme tell you all, I have a hair trigger on the insanity and lack of common sense I see in every day life....have for decades....mainly working on shit, houses, cars, electronics.....you name it....

So like this AM, call up the 'puter' and the .net is dead, the WIFI is dead...look at the little sender....dead, no blue light....WTF?? took it off the front panel and plugged into the back panel on the main frame....it took off and is running fine today.....why??

If you don't mind my asking, how does your wife feel about your hair trigger? Mine is intolerant. ZERO tolerance policy on it and I can't begin to tell you how much worse that makes it. I get mad at something and she gets mad at me for getting mad. It is a crazy house. I feel like I can't breath sometimes.

Tell him to see about getting his testosterone levels checked.

Check out some of the symptoms here:
https://lowtcenter.com/symptoms/

I have the same temperament issues and I am looking into getting mine checked.

I had an old boss get his checked and it wasn't in balance.

Once he got it back at the right level he was able to deal with life much better.

Women need to get their hormones checked also.

Especially after having kids and getting older.

Trust me on that one, personal experience talking.

I married 3X now, this little olde tyme southern country gal is the easiest person in the WORLD to get along with, she just snickers and says something in her little old laid back way that for some reason has a soothing effect on my soul.....dunno what it is....

But don't let that laid back personality fool you one bit, she tough as NAILS, she got lots of GIT UP AND GO!!!!.....age 63.....all 130 lbs of her.....we laugh back and forth, exchange quips/shots, and laugh our asses off.....

Some times I get too intense, and she just drops out, saying 'I"m outta here, settle DOWN' so I do...

I never mad at HER or any other wife in the past.....just coping with stupid crap that drives me nukkin futz.....

Exactly what I wanted to post...

Acknowledging you have a problem is part of the solution. I would speak with your wife, and let her know how you feel.

P.S- It's easy to get mad and throw your nerves at somebody that you know will forgive you... it doesn't make it right.

I have trouble chilling out and since I don't smoke pot, I am considering seeing someone. Mind you, this is not physical anger. It is just general impatience and high level frustration with most things I encounter. Dumb people seem to get under my skin quickly as well as poor drivers ...

and most of the stuff my wife does

It sits inside and stews until I crack and then it is over the top.

It is a trait I don't like in myself and I want to fix it.

I am open to any advice.

(flame suit is on as well in case it goes that direction)
It's called getting older...

That type of realization helped me. When I finally understood that other people were being allowed to pull my strings... that I decided to take them out of the control position.

No longer does anyone have their hand on my emotional throttle.

My first wife was the intolerant type; when I was upset, she amplified the anger; it only got worse by the second.

Yvonne, on the other hand, talks to me... gets me to realize what's happening; and together... I calm down from the situation.

I have too, it's human
You make it better by recognizing the behavior pattern and working on the real issue at hand. Usually what causes the angry response has little to nothing to do with the underlying issues.

I assume that it is her in your avatar....and just her pix, reminds of of Linda, my wife....something about their faces that project a personality....dunno how else to express it.....

Aero- I think the first thing for you to know is that you're not alone. Everyone has something that sets them off. You're not unique in that way.

For me, what got me over my hair trigger explosions (they were only occasional) was to mentally step outside of myself and ask "what is it that is really bothering me", and 99% of the time, it wasn't what I was exploding about. It was misdirected or emotions that I had held in and were just manifesting as anger at stupid little things.

I know what used to cause me to explode, and that's for me to know, but for you, maybe have a long introspective look at your anger and what is the real deeper reason that maybe you're not realizing is the cause.

oh, and stay away from the chas threads over there ya big stupid

Anger is a tricky thing to deal with man. I've been through all sorts of "assistance" with it.

Feel free to give me a call any time to chew the fat over it. Be glad to espouse what little wisdom I have.
