Don't bother rebuilding, just get a remanufactured rear for it. Make sure you get the same rear gear ratio. It sounds like you had some very serious failure. If you're lucky, it'll still be good for a core.

This all sounds familiar.....

Hope it gets straightened out in short order.

Perhaps some 3.90s for faster acceleration? They work well with the M12 trannies.

I am not up on the internals, but I thought there were only clutch packs inside the carrier. Forgive my stupidity if I am way off.

I suspect the lean is from a severe bind and the horrible noise and feeling in the seat is that bind breaking free. Maybe the plates welded themselves together?

Maybe I should keep my thoughts to myself because I am clueless.

Changing the ratios may be something to seriously consider.

Figure at minimum...Ring and pinion, bearings, shims, Diff...possibly carrier...possibly output shafts...assuming it grenaded at speed.

just saw the video...im assuming it has a LSD? ID say it lunched the spiders and clutches...and all that is sitting in the bottom of the housing.

Id still count on ring and pinion, bound to be a nick or 2 somewhere. Time for a locker...or something more robust?

Yes, LSD.

I'm open to anything. Will certainly lean on Chad for beefier internals. I'm done running stock. Will likely replace the clutch at the same time too. Gonna start building this thing up. Want heads, uber agressive cam, intake, tune, ...really have a target of 650-700 hp. Chad knows his shit, so I'll do what he says. I like Scott's idea about better gearing, but if I do all of the power adds, that might make it unmanageable for my type of racing.

LS9 swap it...

I wanted ot tell you though, I know your wrap has been on there a few years now...I just got through spending a few days removing a wrap that had been on a truck too long, and it ruined some of the paint, and also took many hours to remove, even using the proper tools and chemicals...its a bitch when the things lose their pliability and the glue seperates, or gets into the paint.

One of the companies makes a locker that really cuaght my interest, it uses spiral cut gears meshed together or something...allows you to make turns but when you apply power it binds them up and splits power to both axels..supposed to be very robust...dont know the application, im sure the C6 Z rear end is pretty specific..

Yeah, I'm due for a new wrap. Fortunately, this one is 2nd generation stuff and will be much easier to remove. The car is garaged 24/7, so I don't suspect it'll be much of an issue to change it.

You may be pleasantly surprised with the ring and pinion. When my truck rear end went out, they were both fine.

I had a C3 break the carrier and it too had a ring and pinion that were undamaged.

I have just gone down this road. 20k later, I no longer have an autocross car. I have a track car that I cannot afford to race. Be careful what you wish for.
