Only advice is to plan exactly what you want in advance and do it all at once.
It will absolutely drain your wallet if you add in steps.

I can't help you much with your auto X needs but I do know a bit about modding these LS motors and what works with what.

What clutch do I want that can handle about 580 at the wheels?

I've run several with that much power. Modded Luk units, Spec twin (brutally harsh engagement) Monster and McCleod.

By far and away the best clutch I've used is the McCleod RXT.
Holds hard/fast throttle punches without glazing but gives a little bit of slip which is very predictable. Also damn near stock pedal pressure.

The nice part is that you can send it in for a rebuild when you're ready for ~$500 IIRC. They have very fast turn around time.

RXT CLUTCH

They've been in the race game a long time and are owned by NHRA driver Paul Lee

That is the first blown diff I have ever heard of that didn't leak gear oil, and the fact that it affected ride height without leaking is really unusual. Usually it cracks like an egg and spews oil everywhere.

I still haven't cracked it open, but I have ruled out the axles. As I start tearing it down, I'll know more. Going to try and lower the rear sub frame this weekend if time permits. Biggest thing kicking me in the balls now is time.

You thought my clutch was stiff, now that your adding power, the drivability characteristics are gonna change drastically

The one Scott recommends can handle up to 1,000 hp but has stock pedal feel.

You drove my car at BRII. The clutch, while not as soft as stock, is pretty close I think.
Of all the clutches I've been through, the McCleod has been incredible.

You might be thinking of the twin clutch designs like Exedy, Spec etc. A lot of guys run those because they think they need crazy clamping force. The trade off is insane pedal pressure and very hard/sudden engagement.
