We're getting a taste of it now. Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST /6 PM CST/ this evening.

Timing: light rain will begin to change over to snow from north to south around dawn. Light to occasionally moderate snow will continue through late morning. Additional snow showers are anticipated later this afternoon.

Main impact: accumulations of 1 to 2 inches over southern Indiana and around 1 inch over portions of north central Kentucky are expected by late afternoon.

Got 4-6" coming over the night.
On the light side, I'll break out the backpack blower. If it's heavier, the 30", 15 lb/ft tq Briggs, 2 stage snow monster is gassed up and ready to rumble.

We're watching it closely at work. If snow starts to accumulate (ground's too wet for sticking) or transitions to freezing rain and ice, I'll bail from work early today. Don't want a one hour commute to morph into a four-hour one due to untreated roads, highways and interstates.

Kentuckiana drivers are notoriously unskilled for winter driving conditions. Plus, everyone'll make a run at the grocery stores for all the eggs, milk, bread and instant pancake mix they can find.

Don't forget the water and toilet paper!!! You might be stuck in your houses for like 24 hours!!!

We're looking at like 14" here, roads are kinda sucky right now but nothing we haven't driven in before.
