I glanced though again, and still missed it.....what about the shower PAN???
what is the shower based on, upstairs framing?? or ground level slab....??? either way you need a pan for the concrete graded to the drain...and I have seen that gray mess there, but missed any description of just what it was...saw a rather large hole in the drain location....which looked unusual.... |

Lots of stuff happened, I will get pics in the AM. It's all blocked off currently to keep cats out.

They have it all blocked off right now. The tile guys finally got the floors prepped (stripped off the existing polyurethane essentially) and laid the marble tile in the sun room and put down some funky orange waffle-looking underlayment in the bathroom. All that had to set without any cats running around on it. So, by poking my camera through a hole, here's some of the un-grouted marble tile in the sun room.
I should be able to get some more later this morning hopefully. Keep in mind, this is what it used to look like there. |

Wow I like that marble! I can see a bathroom remodel in my future here at the farm house but hopefully not for a few years.

The tile in the sun room is just "plain" and that was on purpose. The bathroom uses the same tile except it will be the focal point. It will be laid at a 45 degree angle and will have a black slate border with black accent tiles at strategic places, what the tile guy calls a carpet. Yesterday the tile guy, giddy after finally getting the floors prepped and back to actually doing something he liked, said out loud (to himself) "Wow, this marble tile is niiiiiice!" He was having fun laying the tile. Later he told my wife that this was the coolest marble tile he'd worked with. Said usually it's just kinda white and boring, but this has all sorts of variations in it.

Oh, lovely. Now I'm told that they are going to have to replace a window. Unbeknownst to me, the big window in the bedroom is broke. Not the glass, one of the bottom windows that is made to swivel out so you can clean it easy or something. My wife knew about it and apparently never thought to mention it to me. So there's another $500 or so.
Also the barn door rails for the three sliding/hanging doors is horrid and I put my stompy foot down and told them to take it back to whatever foul pit it originated and get me something nice like this. |
