Untill Hardiboard came on the scene, that was fairly standard issue.....

I"m a believer in hardi, that makes for great tile backer, would never use anything else....

Texture/sheet rock stuff = done. Tile guys getting started. Got to get the shower floor done first. They are experimenting on the main bathroom floor to see if they can use a non-volatile stripper to remove the polyurethane from the old concrete floor. I hope so. Tile looks good, the rest of the tile/marble is really nice - just wait!

Good luck. How long will the project take?

They did most of the rest of the shower tile today. It looks really cool in person but this is a bear to photograph.

They will continue the marble tile above the black accent tile and also tile the ceiling and "viewports" with marble. Coming along nicely. The paint guy was here today too and primed all the new sheet rock and put a coat of ceiling paint on.

Excellent combo of colors!
Will be nice when she's done.

It is coming along nice. The tile colors go together well. This makes me want to have my shower tile replaced.....mine is just a boring white square tiles covering everything.

I almost feel sorry for the tile guys. They told me that this is one of the most intricate showers they have ever done. They are meticulous and have been shaving pretty much ever single piece so that it fits perfectly. I'll get some pictures when they are done, they're doing the ceiling right now which is all that is left.

Painter has the wall color in the bathroom done (first coat) and it's OK, I really didn't have much to say about colors of paint nor do I really care much. The bedroom will be two shades darker. Think grayish-blue. I'm sure it will look great once it's all done and all the furnishings are in place and the LED lighting and whatnot.

This is the granite threshold thing for the shower. Looks nice.

Some pictures of the more-completed shower. Ceiling still has to be tiled.

This gives you an idea of the paint color in the bathroom, two shades lighter than the bedroom.

And the bedroom's first coat.

Shower tile is complete. All they have left is:

Grouting the shower.

Laying tile on the bathroom floor and around the tub.

Grouting that.

Laying tile in the sunroom.

Grouting that.

Then more paint, installation of cabinets and vanity, electrical finished, delivery of the bedroom furniture, trim work, new shades, closets professionally done, hanging sliding doors. Oh crap, it will be awhile...

That's just a piece of wood they are using as a support while the adhesive dries.

Looking that that shower, I see the walls done, and it does look nice, but the floor??? that is typically the first thing done in a tile shower....so what they do?? a pan?? and then drag the tile to shed inside it?? seems to ME that any PAN would be built from ground up.....

so what is the mystery man???

BTW not sure I'm 100% on the black trim tile yet. I'm told it will all come together.

Today - day from hell.

At least 6 guys working during the AM. I couldn't take it. Compressor running, death metal playing on a jam box, air nailer, the smell of polyurethane stripper permeating the air. Painters painting and talking and laughing and probably sneaking swigs of vodka (painters...) I tried to work - I did work - for as long as possible. Then went and tried to play golf. Could not. Not with other people present anyway. Finally, after completing 18 holes I went and shot about 12 more holes by myself, bypassing people as needed, played it all as quick as I could, and had a blast just being alone.

That's what's this remodel is doing to me. I want to BE ALONE! In my house, BY MY SELF! WITH NO MOTHER FU...

You get the idea.

I know what you mean. It drove me nuts just to have the Direct TV guy here for a couple of hours a few weeks ago. I can just imagine what you are going through. By the pictures you are posting, it will all be worth it, though.
