Looks like a jacuzzi going in? I was going to suggest that as a point of resale if you can get a killer deal on one.
Lots of bath places and places like HD and Lowes get custom order returns on them. Lowes will often knock 40% + off sticker for starters.

Most folks rarely use them yet I find they are an excellent selling point for many women.

Actually we are taking a Jacuzzi out and putting in a soaker tub. Jacuzzi tubs get nasty, they are loud, the cats hate it, we hardly ever use it, so it's out of here. Our house will sell just fine when we sell it. It will have plenty of nice things for people to like.

That said, they have the shower and tub and closet roughed in. Things are coming along nicely. I'll get some more pics up as things become more interesting.

Shower framed in. It's pretty big. Electrician will be here today so I hear.

Bathtub platform is roughed in.

Here I'm standing in my bedroom and this is my closet now.

Sounds like a plan. We have a medium sized jacuzzi in the master bath and we've never been in it once in almost 2 years since we've moved in.

Looks like the project is coming along at a nice pace.

You are right about that!

Since you are spending a lot of money here, allow me to help. Victoria Albert makes some nice tubs.

Dual shower controls are installed...

Tub is installed...

Electrician has been busy hacking holes all over the place. All the yellow wires are new.

Just some of the stuff they have been doing lately. They are pretty much done with demo and are now in the process of actually doing the remodel.

Shower and bathtub have sheet rock installed, they are working on installing the rest of the sheet rock in the bathroom today.

This is in the bedroom, where I had them install some extra studs and blocks for the wall-mounted TV and also a floating component shelf.

These are the (currently unfinished) glass panel doors, two for the doors between the bedroom and bathroom, and one that will slide back and forth for the door to the toilet room. BTW iPhones are shit when there is back-lighting.

OK, some progress. They have the hardwood floor about 1/2 installed. They probably would have it finished but for some reason we didn't get enough underlayment. It's a floating snap-together floor and it really goes down fast.

The same guys laying the wood floor are going to be doing the tile in the bathroom. They have the shower floor prepped for this, put some concrete in today.

Sheet rock guy has to finish up but the first layer of mud is everywhere done.

Coming along really well! Nice they got the first coat of mud on so it can dry/shrink up. When they get back to it on Monday, it'll be nice and dry.

They've made huge progress with many of the engineered floors the last 5 years.
Much of it is stronger than solid wood. Only snag is it can't be sanded; although replacing boards aren't that difficult for the most part.

Looks good

Actually this wood can be refinished if need be a couple of times, but it is very easy to replace boards with the snap-in stuff. You may have to pull up a baseboard, but that's about it. The gap between the floor and the wall is just enough to allow disassmbley if need be. The laminate (the actual hardwood part) is about 3/16" thick, pretty thick for a laminate. I don't foresee any problems with it. We have similar engineered hard woods in our other two bedrooms and they look brand new after three years.

The tile guys are here and so is the sheet rock dude, three guys all currently driving me crazy. Sheet rock dude is doing ceiling texture where it needs it, the rest of that is done. The tile guys are cutting holes in the wall for shelves in the shower, and cutting up some sort of plastic backer stuff. They have their jams going plenty loud, and really don't consult me on this (I don't actually care.)

Talked the tile guys to put in a couple of corner shelves in case the rather small built-in shelf doesn't hold enough stuff. The built-in is nice but there are no other places to put one like it. Vent pipes, electric, exterior wall, and plumbing limit the empty areas to almost nothing. The corner shelves will solve that problem nicely.

Drywall and tilers working at the same time? Sheit, that could get ugly....
Unless they're in separate sections.

I'm liking the extra shelves in the shower. There's never enough room for the stuff my wife brings in there.

Things are moving along well. You'll probably have your project completed pics up before I get my theater posted up.

Bedroom hardwood floor is done, ceiling is textured, shower is prepped for tile, pretty good day actually. The shower is very hard to take pictures. It isn't very photogenic yet if ever.

Sheetrock in the shower? Why not hardibacker cement board? They used green board in my kids shower, we ended up with a leak, mold and big frigging mess. I gutted it and used hardibacker, and waterproofed the whole damned thing. You could hit it with a firehose now. LOL

Been there, first house was a "handy man's special".

Looks like you're doing a great job, you will be proud when it's all done. I bet it's going to look good.

They used the correct blue-colored sheet rock in the shower, followed by an orange plastic sheet thing that completely seals it up. It's being done very professionally.

I figured they were going to use the blurple colored rock.
I'm not a fan of the Hardi Backer board.
It does get the job done but it is also heavy as hell, eats up additional space and it a bitch to cut; at least the cement board is.

I've found it to have flex issues as well that is a problem with the 18" + tiles.

Why don't you try something else to bathe your cats in, then? Who the hell gives their cats a bath in a Jacuzzi. Sounds like a 1%er problem.
