Not likely, given they already signed off on a settlement...Plus, a civil case has no real bearing on the criminal verdict.

As I understand it, even Zim won't be automatically immune from a civil suit.
IF found not guilty, and IF a civil suit is filed against him, he will have to endure another court hearing in which a judge will review all the evidence (again) to decide if he is to be granted civil immunity (as Fl law allows for given a not guilty criminal verdict). If that happens, essentially he'd be tried twice, at least in terms of having to represent himself.

On the surface, it would seem silly for the family to file that suit in the event of a not guilty verdict, but given the "reward" of the HOA settlement, they probably have the means and the spite to do it, just to drag this on further.
