We work together and work cheap.
All as we need is:
3 meals a day, snacks in between, 2 computers with a fast internet connection and preferrably a couple blond slims in the 100-110lb area.

Let us know when you're ready.

This means you need to have a medium that can withstand the increased energy without distorting the original information with multiple playbacks being an option.

SSD might be the future, when the price comes down. Faster boot times, etc. I think streaming has potential, but we need bigger and better pipelines, which is why a Blu-ray disc has the edge at the moment.
Interesting info
I have long hoped/wanted for a time where bandwidth increased to a point where it would allow for better quality movies/sound codecs to be used.

I also never bought into the MP3 deal. Not that I'm an audio snob; most highly compressed files are ok for music to jog to etc.
It would just be nice to plug an MP3 player into my car's system that has very little compression, if any at all.

On the other hand, most of the audio manufacturers have pulled back their marketing and R/D spending. Their just isn't the market for it it seems.

SSD would be nice for playback, but it would still require a high data transfer rate to be appealing.
The only other option is to mail a disc (or some type of media) for use in the SSD.

Man, I'm just trying to find somebody in the Philly area that can tune my room for me, calibrate the projector etc.

The few guys I've looked up want thousands to do all kinds of mumbo jumbo and print up fancy but useless computer drawings that the average person (HT idiot) might want.
I'd be more than happy to drop a grand to get somebody in for a day to help me.

Was it built of OSB engineered joists?? All I know is what my buddy said, and having burnt OSB in the fireplace, I know it burns quickly.....but it was a LONG time ago, like 25 year or so, and maybe they put some fire retardant material in there by now, I WOULD HOPE.....

I guess it depends how far you are going.
If you want someoen to take room measurements and such and to offer ideas on how to shape the sound properly in your room then you are looking at a sound engineer. Anything with an "engineer" at the end is going to cost money as it's their professional field.

If you're looking for someone to take speaker or sub measurements and find the nulls and low spots in your frequency range with a mic and a laptop it's a different thing altogether.

I know you are wondering about sub placement but what else are you trying to do?
Reflection points are easy to figure out.

Can't wait for Gozar to have a bunch of people over to watch his new 4k setup, Avatar 3 - Blue is the New Black, and his buddy says "So, show me this new high-tech setup you got there. Gozar proceeds to whip out a cassette tape, carefully passing over Molly Hatchet and a Bonn Scott era AC/DC, slaps it into the VCR, and says "Check this baby out!"

Gotcha covered on almost all fronts except your weight requirement for said honeys.
Hell, my niece who is slender/fit weighs more than that at 13 years old; of course she is also 5'7"

It's a good thing you added the 13 year old part.
