The Cineform (full) version of this film is 330GB

Will be cool when it becomes more mainstream and prices fall to realistic levels as availability of films expands.

I'd love to see a 4K demo in person. Should be interesting.

I don't think storage will be as much of an issue as people are using their computers as media players a lot more now, not to mention having multiple tb networking servers and such at home.

It will just push us to another type of media.

I watch a lot of HGTV and I can assure you a proper demo requires completely destroying that room with sledge hammers before re-building it with the new room above.

I was saying that to my contractor today. Electrical is Thursday, I do the low-voltage over the weekend. Sheetrock and paint next week. The week after is finish and flooring. He will be done in under 3 weeks.

One problem though. The wall for the screen is a shear wall. Going to suck cutting in plugs and chasing wires.

Build a false 2 x 6" wall in front.
You can also insulate it properly and run wiring a lot easier.
Especially with all the wiring that needs to go in to that spot.
Speaker, power, hdmi, amongst other a/v cables.

That is a damn good idea although I will probably do 2x4. Behind that shear wall is the laundry room which will have plumbing and electrical all over the place.

I just made the decision. Thanks!

Years ago, a friend of mine was with the Fire/Rescue/EMT for Montgomery Co. Maryland, and he informed me that they keep tabs on the construction techniques used in newer houses, and it involved the use of OSB material, especially in structured joists/engineered joists, the shit burns super hot and FAST, the buildings so listed will not be entered unless first hand knowledge of someone inside needing help.....

ever since hearing that, I never used OSB on any job site of mine......

just so you know......

There was a fire two years ago down the street. It burned for 15 minutes before fire crews arrived. They lost one room plus smoke damage. All got out just fine.

May have to change the medium, since they use light as a way to read information. DVD uses 640 nm light, red/orange, whereas Blu-ray uses a 405nm violet light. As they go to smaller and smaller wavelengths, the amount of energy increases (E = hc/lambda, lambda is wavelength). This means you need to have a medium that can withstand the increased energy without distorting the original information with multiple playbacks being an option.

SSD might be the future, when the price comes down. Faster boot times, etc. I think streaming has potential, but we need bigger and better pipelines, which is why a Blu-ray disc has the edge at the moment.

Mr. Ponzi scheme himself. Was on the run and then caught in Mexico. I would be shocked if he is out of the legal system by now.
