I have 20mbps/20mbps Internet and I am married. Thus no 3 meals a day and no additional women allowed. Let alone a Canadian.
See we were all good until now.

Well since you've been doing it you know that you should be sloping the ceiling from the front to the back a few feet right. I know, that's a little too far.

Seriously here is one thing I found that makes a good room.
The silence when you are watching a movie!
Meaning no rattles or thumping from anything.

I use to go so far as putting a piece of rubber through the electrical staples to make sure I never had a wire rattling inside a wall.

Lights and regular outlets were always run to a seperate leg on the panel from the a/v equipment to reduce any interference. As well as any electrical wires(lights and outlets) that were crossing over speaker wires or a/v wiring in the ceiling were run at right angels across the wires and seperated with tie straps so they weren't touching if need be.

I'm a little anal when it comes to the wiring.

20 amp outlets for all equipment with star grounding if possible.
Each amp on it's own outlet.
Audio and video component outlets were also seperate from each other.

Then you get to products like green glue or double hung drywall and decoupling clips. Of course room treatments and bass traps, and the dreaded where the fukk do I put my subs dilema.

I am also picky about the wiring. That is why I am doing the low voltage myself.

The rest? Well you take it a bit farther than I do.

TJI's? Conventional framing? Any beams required or is it a clear span?

Just curious?

That's just wrong. I hope that's not yours.

This is as bad as my wiring ever got.
This was before I cleaned it all up.
I can't find the pic of when it was all straightened out.
Shit really hit the fan when I added 2 power amps to make 4 total.

My current receiver is a Denon 4308ci. This will eventually be replaced by something beefier or separates.

My projector is a JVC DLA-X30B. I am currently looking at the Stewart ABB 120" motorized screen.

Should be an awesome set up! The JVCs are one of the 2 models I'm looking at.
The other is the Epson 6010. I'm not going to be doing much in the way of 3D and don't care for the look.

Really looking forward to updated progress pics to keep me motivated!

You guys may want to hold off a few months on the projector buying.
4k is going to become mainstream soon if that matters to you.
The picture is a huge jump from 1080p.
Extremely visible from what I've been reading.

Currently hovering at the $20-30k price range, I think it may be a bit more than months before they become reasonable.
I'd pay $4-5k for a killer projector, but not 5 times that.

I'll throw mine on Videogon for 40% off after a few years and upgrade when the time comes.

Mikey, you think they are going to drop that much in the next few months?
If so, I may hang on a bit longer. I haven't researched them in several months.

Isn't a 4k basically 4 1080 screens? If so, it'll make watching football sunday a whole lot more enjoyable with 4 games on at once.

Sony's 4k is coming out in November.
TV & Home Theatres

Lg's is already out.
LG 84LM9600 - Flat-panel TVs - CNET Reviews

I'm saying that if you have plans on buying a new 1080p high dollar projector you may want to use what you have now, or buy something not so expensive and see where the pricing lands on the 4k's if you're interested in them.

I spent 3k on my projector. Just like with Blu-ray, when the content is widely available I will be happy to update my system. Otherwise we spend all of our time waiting for the next big thing and never enjoy what is available right now.

Invest wisely is always good advice though.

Will be cool when it becomes more mainstream and prices fall to realistic levels as availability of films expands.

I'd love to see a 4K demo in person. Should be interesting.
