Wouldn't it be more fun to just hitch hike out there and take a look before you pay?
I thought about flying out there, renting a car, towing it back - but in the end I think it would end up costing just as much as shipping ($1100)

Yah but shipping it means no emergency axle bearing replacements no blown tires, and no learning about the trailer 1,000 miles from a reasonably priced shop.

I see your point. I have never towed anything, so it is all foreign to me

If it goes wrong...it will go wrong in a big way. I've replaced 3 out of 4 trailer tires on just one trip.

Got the guy's # and planning on calling him today with a few questions and to see if I can get more photos. Judging by the ones he posted, there doesn't appear to be any water damage. If it doesn't leak, I'll be pretty temped to go ahead and get it. (Just as long as the hubby gives the final 'ok'!)

I think it also means (unfortunately) that I'll have to sell my motorcycle........

Years ago I bought an old Corvette in FL. on the spur of the moment. I had to find a U-haul trailer and truck to get it back home. I had a guy on CF look at one for me in Wis. one time. He promised me it was a good car. I went ahead and took the plane trip, rented the car, motel room, etc...the car turned out to be a rust bucket and declined it.

If you buy it...there are some guys over on the HAMB that move cars around the country for a reasonable fee. They usually have something like a dually truck and trailer. You can search around the site and probably have it brought back here for a reasonable price. Many times they will deliver a car somewhere and looking for something else to haul instead of pulling an empty car trailer and paying for fuel for nothing.

It's the group that split with URGER a few years ago. There was a dispute over pickles I think.

Called on Friday and got a number of quotes, and all of them seemed to come in around $1100.

Have you checked with passport or another auto transporter. I did not think it was that expensive.

Do you have any pics of the interior? What did the owner say about leaks? What is it's price?
