NOPE, more like in your territory, Santa Fe. NM, home of my 80 y/o hippie dippy sister...and her completely disfunctional son.....say hello to the neighbors.....
this is a motor home P30 chassis, vintage '71 so yes 40 y/o....look at the sites for some pix over the last 2 years....most of them are old, but it's almost done, just trim molding I don't wanna invest in, other than that, it's totally functional....

je
Upon finding the engine was basically NEW, clean as a pin, the second thing I did was pull that top mount a/c unit and to the curb it went....
then replace all 3 of the top vents.... the front, top and back ass is good thick fiberglass, aluminum on the sides....there are NO leaks....it's been through many a storm and test driven plenty....way before the interior paneling went on....I"m not saying something CAN'T happen but it's been gone over pretty good, olde tyme boat owner here, vette too come think of it.... never spotted a leak YET....redid the windows and all.... new weatherstriping too....all the flooring was replaced, new framing, new studs as necessary, new PT 3/4 ply flooring....all tied in pretty good.... we have a total of 4500 into this thing....plus my labor to keep me outta the bars and strip clubs...... there are some MH similar to this for sale around here, asking 3500+++ and they are in what I EYE>>> would call bad shape....not only heavy rust, but wood rot like krazy....I chased out all the bugs in the tearout.... there is a friend around the corner that was scrapping a '78 MH GM P30 chassis...so I got the tilt column, power steering box, front bumper, side door, and some other parts...junkyard steering pump ebay Hydro boost brakes...new master and wheel cylinders FORD brakes on the rear..... Chrysler a/c comp mated to the existing aftermarket a/c install...with it was in the vette..... had a Qjet hanging on my shop wall for some 25? years, replaced gaskets, and on the engine, just did the intake for a hot fuel boil over problem in 100 shade ambient temp city traffic.... built my own 700 turbo for the overdrive, since it's a 411 dualy rear.... that alone was about a grand in parts....it's built with most all the tricks....and has a LARGE assed heavy cooler in front....runs 170f under most stressful conditions...traffic as above....can't bitch too much as it never gets a chance to lock up in that situation.... so wish me luck muvva duck..... |
