According to a new book called Mussolini's Barber, Hitler gave his troops in Paris sex dolls to help prevent them from contracting ayphillis from Parisian prostitutes. In something called the Borghild Project, Henrich Himmler, the SS chief, had scientists create a smaller then life size doll to carry in backpacks. Hungarian actress Kathy von Nagy was asked be the model for the doll; she refused, so the Nazis, unsurprisingly, created a blonde, blue-eyed version of the doll to "comfort" their soldiers.

After endless tests (WTF?), 50 were ordered for Himmler's troops. But, the project was scrapped two years later becaused the troops refused to carry the dolls for fear of embarrassment if captured.

Lars, this happened in 1940-42, about 70 years ago. Plastic wasn't the same then as it is now--no UV blockers, etc. As best as I can tell, maybe only 50 were made. Just as American G.I.s brought guns and swords home, don't you suppose the Krauts took their love dolls home with them? You know, memories....
