For me, all the CF attacks are nothing more than internet drivel. I basically ignore and skip through them. I still see far more value in the technical & racing forums, huge amounts of knowledge there and I will always seek them out for that reason.

You can debate forever what Off Topic was and what it became, but it’s irrelevant. And, when I read that so many regular posters get banned I can only shake my head. But, now you’ve got a shiny new place here that can represent what you think it should.

So here, it seems free speech rules, uncontrolled, but I thought I was seeing some signs of a slight pull back, keep it reasonable, etc.

The post about whoring out his wife crossed the line of common decency (any place, any time). That’s why I made the reference to being better, but I see that a few are perfectly comfortable with comments like that.

If you are one of them, good for you. I’m not comfortable with a low blow like that and thought it better to speak up than ignore and skip this time around. I certainly don’t expect to change other opinions, this is one of those things you feel in your gut, or you don’t.

It was somewhat uncharacteristic for Dixie. He was prolly PUI.....That being said, free speech sure beats the alternative....I personally despise CFOT, because of the Nazi's that censor the place...It's completely ridiculous. The tech sections, on the other hand, are the best, hands down.....You know what's funny ? If I would have posted this on the other site, this post would have disappeared, and I would have been banned.....Yet, I'm still here.....

Report the post and move on . Quoting it multiple times sure doesn't help. I don't live my life on here and I'm sure that other mods don't either. When we see the report, it gets handled.

That comment could simply be an analogy too. You're not offended by the term "postwhore", are you?

As many see it, he's already spent the last several years "whoring out his wife", in the sense of spamming the forum with thousands of pics of her, to an audience that made it abundantly clear they were tired of seeing it, and tired of every thread he posts in getting hijacked to the topic of wifey (or the porch, or the N crowd).

While she might have no problem with that activity, him doing it in the manner he does is often viewed by others as quite disrespectful towards her. In much the same way Joecooool catches so much shit for his avatar pic here.

And his ego will never allow him to see it like that. We're just "cop haters" if we don't drool every time a pic of his "prized possession" is posted. And yes I put that in quotes because despite marital status, she's a person, not a possession.

Congrats Dan, hope you enjoy a long and healthy relationship with your lovely wife, and enjoy your retirement.
Beyond that sentiment I don't and shouldn't care, and if I never see another "wifey" pic again, I'll be quite happy.

No, I’m not offended at all by the term "post whore", or the word, but using it figuratively, versus literally directed at someone, comes across differently.

I understand your point about the rest, and again, those kinds of posts just drop in to my internet drivel bucket.
