Apparently there's going to be an RTX 3080 ti sometime in 2021.

Might wait for that one. It's supposedly going to have 20 GB of RAM (Ridiculously expensive RTX 3090 has 24, RTX 3080 has only 10).

Either that or maybe it would be wiser to just find out which card will run high-ultra settings at 1440p and hit close to 144 fps since I'm using a 1440p monitor. I'm guessing an RTX 3070 would probably do it for me. Not interested in buying/playing cyberpunk unless you're allowed to cleanse the city of all degenerates i.e. every single NPC.

Forgot I needed a set of speakers for my son to go with the Frankenstein desktop. Bought a cheap $20 set of logitech of Amazon, and on a whim looked for the RAM I used in the old i5-4570 build. They still had some! Although not in black like I had, but red. So I bought another pair and now he'll have 32 GB of old slow DDR3 1600 instead of 16 GB. Probably won't make a difference at all, but why not for such a cheap price.

Got the Meshify case in the mail today and put together the PC for my son.

Added the additional 2 sticks of RAM, put in my old Zotac GTX 970 GPU.

Case came with 1 front and 1 rear Fractal fan. Put both in front, put the non LED Cooler Master fan from my old 212 EVO as the rear exhaust fan.

Have to drive an hour to pick it up in Augusta, GA next week though.

They're actually trying to prevent bots and scalpers. 2 step process to get it in your cart, then reserved once you can check out and you can only pick it up in store.

Since my last post I have literally only been playing Fallout 4 again on this PC.

Holy balls does a recent top of the line CPU and a lot of fast memory make a huge difference. I have this thing loaded down with mods and have not had one single crash to desktop. We're talking massive battles with dozens of raiders, synths, whatever blowing each-other all to hell and utter chaos and not even the slightest hint of lag or stutter, much less crashes.

That changes tomorrow (the not playing anything but Fallout 4 part), because Hitman 3 is coming out!!! I love the new series, sad this is the final installment. I usually preorder nothing and buy everything on sale, but I preordered Hitman 3 for PC AND for PS5. I 100%ed Hitman 1, got close to 100% on Hitman 2, played through all of them on PC and on XBOX One X. Absolution is now just a distant bad memory, they really revived this series and did it justice.

Also I cancelled the RTX 3070 order. 1080 will be fine for Hitman 3 on 1440p.

I'm going to wait Christmas 2021 to treat myself to something.

Bought $500 worth of STONKS instead. Janet Yellen is back and she's going to make asset value inflation great again.
