Default War Eagle Z06 & Neece, you'll appreciate this

We had a visit today from a light red and white Husky. We had a storms this afternoon with the heaviest passing just to the north of us. While we were eating dinner, I looked out the picture window and see her back and tail walk by under the window. I opened the front door and she was standing there looking at it as if to say 'please let me in!'. I went outside and sat on the step and she stood as close as she could to me and gave me kisses. Poor girl was soo scared. By this time the storm had passed (the rain lasted maybe 15 min). It was still thundering, though. I sat out on the porch with her and petted her (our Lab who was in the house was not happy about that) until it completely passed. She really, really wanted in the house. We kind of knew where she lives because some people came by last summer looking for two Huskies. They live on the property behind us. After some contemplation, I decided to try to take her home since we had no way of getting their phone number. She hopped right up in the back seat of the Taurus. I drove around to the road behind us and as I was trying to figure which of the three driveways I needed a Mustang was driving out one. I pulled in the one next to it and opened my door. The girl driving the Mustang stopped and said 'that's our dog'. So she and the other girl with her got out and came over to my car. I told them that she had been hiding out on our front porch. I think they were as scared as the dog had been. The younger of the two was just sobbing . The other Husky (a black and white) had gone back home on her own. They put the doggie in their car, I gave the sobbing teenager a hug and everyone was happy. The funniest part was when Darrin was talking to the Husky through the screen in the window and she was talking back trying to convince him to let her in the house. That was the first time Darrin has ever 'talked' to a Husky.

They're probably on the lake right now.

You done real good man.

Ringo trips out during storms too. We are up on the boat in Hartwell now and last night after a "few" beers we were watching the storm come in on the aft deck with Ringo.....Denise has already gone to bed. He was doing good until I fell asleep, then he stuck his snout into my ribcage and ran to cabin door. Time to go inside.
He loves rain though.......it is pouring rain this AM still and he and Denise just went on their morning run....I can't see across the water because of the rain......they are going to be nasty when they get back.

What a good guy!
And what is with dogs and storms? Every dog I've had has run to the basement and exhibits "denning" behavior, like going under low tables and stuff, and shaking like a leaf, Must be the loud noise I guess, but they start even before the storms get here.....if we only knew what they do?

Poor puppy!haha. Having had one before, you know how sensitive they are. Glad you were there to help keep up company and find her home. ringo likes to watch the rain and lightening, until he hears the thunder. Our previos husky would get in the bathtub when it stormed.lol. Odd, he was! And they do love to talk and be vocal. Ringo speaks to everyone he sees, so funny! I also really do believe he understands every word I say. Thanks for sharing and glad the storms are gone, for now!

That was nice of you to comfort a dog that was scared by the storm....and get her home.

I was really surprised to see her walk across our porch. I'm happy she came here for shelter. Our Lab is scared of storms too. She'll get in the bathtub or go downstairs. Yesterday we found her in the walk-in closet. At least they're smart enough to know where to go, lol!
Funny thing, about an hour after I took the Husky home, I found a Beagle mix on the front porch. She jumped up on me and started giving me kisses. I don't know if she was scared from the storm or just wanted attention, lol. She stated jumping on the door to get in the house so I grabbed a lead and walked her home. She lives about three houses down the road. She didn't stay, there, though. The one thing that I don't like about living in the country is so many just let there dogs run loose. I don't care that come to visit us but I'm always worried that they're going to get hit out in the road. There's not a lot of traffic out here but several drive pretty fast.
Hope the sun is shining for you guys today!

I dunno which is better - that it's Michael Waltrip, rent-to-own furniture or Auburn.
