They have been after them to blast or remove the carving from the mtn.The way things are going these days it might just happen now. We were told back in the '90s with the Clinton's this would all happen in steps. First renaming of streets, buildings, etc...to attacking monuments and finally everything. It was and is true.

I took part in some fun civil war living histories at Stone Mtn. park. Anywhere we do those we get free run of the place at night. It started raining one night and I slept on the porch of one of buildings in the park. I had to be up and back in camp before the public came in though lol

as long as NAPCAR is imposing their political views on us, i have some questions:

and as for all those sponsors on the cars....what if some of those companies are out of my favor? booze? don't drink.

I grew up(debatable) in Indiana and visited Stone Mountain within a year after moving to Atlanta. It was a great experience and educational. I am not Southern, but lived in Georgia long enough to have a small percentage of southern blood in my veins. Stone Mountain had better not be removed.

They have caved in from pressure from NBC,corporations, etc...that write them the BIG $$$ checks to go all PC.

I started out a NASCAR fan in the early '70s. Loved it for decades, until all the gazillionaire drivers that no one could identify with and then the spec cars issued to everyone. You don't have to race. Just get out there and parade around the track at high speeds, don't crash, and lose the TV coverage for the sponsors.

If you want real racing go to a non-pro event. Dirt track, local drag strip, etc...
