My insurance company has always made that decision for me. I have used CVS Caremark for years because that is who Aetna uses. I would call your health insurance company first, and see what they say.

I use express scripts but any will do. Just ask your Doc and he might get your insurance to do it. Some prescriptions are so cheap you can pay out of pocket to get ahead. Look at good rx for some good discounts if your insurance wants to be a pain.

That was your choice to let them make your decisions for you.

I don't think so, it says it right on my insurance card. I'm sure they would let me use whoever I want, but then I would be paying the bill.

Instead of letting them know about concerns I don't have, ask them how effective a particulate paper filter is against airborne viruses. You may be surprised by the answer - if they even answer the question.

Yes and you might be surprised how cheap it can be to get ahead on your meds or how easy it is just to ask.

Good thing COVID--19 is not airborne

Well, since I pay $1.50 per quarter for ALL of my regular medications, I'm not sure I'm going to get it much cheaper.

I have a 6-9 month supply of all my medications on hand at all times as well.

Yes it is. So, beyond making it hard to touch your mouth or nose with your hands, what does a paper particulate filter do to prevent getting the virus? I'm not trolling BTW, I'm asking a serious question. I have a strong background in the prevention of inhalation of hazardous substances, thus my questions.

COVID--19 is spread through respiratory droplets which makes it non-airborne.

Airborne viruses are “very small droplets that come out of our mouth which very quickly evaporate the water off, and we’re left with a gel kind of material . . . which forms a bit of a protective environment for those virions to survive for longer periods”

This is not airborne as stated. It can survive on surfaces, as most Viruses, for a Short period of time and suspected to be spread up to 6 feet by a cough/sneeze.

Hand washing and a basic barrier mask should suffice, in as much as we know about it right now. However, Coronavirus is not a new virus, this is just a new strain. We can only assume the transmission is the same, although the long incubation period and transmission/contagious during periods of asymptotic presentation is atypical.

I truly hope this does not become a worse pandemic (already is). The high Morbidity/mortality of this virus is concerning. Holding my breath, no pun intended.

So what do you say to someone (*cough*GEODON*cough*) who says "40000 people die of the Flu every year - this Coronavirus is no big deal."

The scary part of COVID--19 is that the incubation is 14 days (and looking that it might be even more due to some outliers) and that people are contagious even when they don't even know they are carrying the virus

We choose our pharmacy and the Doc just sends it wherever no difference in out of pocket.

You could unintentionally transmit to a few thousand people in a day or two and you are not even sick. I'm not that freaked out about it, but it could turn pretty rough. Many unknowns at this point.

Not true at all. Prices can be all over the place depending on the pharmacy.
