Cool Another ebay score for the home shop
Certain jobs require a small drill chuck in the bench top milling machine. I just won this NOS Made in the USA Jacobs 0-1/4" drill chuck for opening bid of .99

The same chuck is $79.65 in the MSC tool catalog

It's a 6" x 18" Central Machinery bench top mill made in 1983. I purchased it from a tool maker's brother ( he inherited it ) and it's surprisingly very well built.

It's a "stepping stone" until I get a Bridgeport type mill.

I just got a great deal on a set of Starrett model 123Z-24 verniers. These suckers list for $1151.00
123Z-24 Master Vernier Caliper

I just won a set that looks brand new for $197.50 This was cutting it extremely close to my high bid of $197.69

My tool money stash has been depleted for a little while

Nice find. Another machinist I know and trust (but disagree with on this point) calls all calipers whether vernier, dial or digital "guessing sticks". I can get repeatable and micrometer verified results from my Mitutoyo dials... to the nearest thousandth anyway which is close enough for the engine work and reloading chores I use them for.
