Age discrimination is so common not even funny, they just say it's because they can hire someone cheaper but in reality your age and experience is the reason. They want a 20 year old with 10 years experience for peanuts.

Until we do not look at age/sex/race period for anything it will never stop.
I personally don't care what you are or what you look like but do not use those as an excuse to suck at your job or get the job either.

I think it's because of diminished productivity, higher wages and benefits that an older worker has.
It all comes down to the bottom line and the 55+ crowd don't fit the corporate "model".

Depends on the direction. We have all heard how being over 60 is not good for Covid.

My wife retired from teaching 4 years ago after 32 years. Financially we're okay. She now teaches part time through a contractor and they were thinking of letting go and replacing all those over 60.

This will not be a good move on the chess board.

If we're going the way of quotas, which certainly appears to be the case, shouldn't it go both ways? NBA and NFL teams should be required to have at least half of the team be white. Fair is fair, right?

NBA roster is 12 players.

blacks are 14% of the general population....so 0.14 * 12 = 1.68....hmmm, we'll have to round to 2. now we need everyone else properly represented: hispanics, asian, white, native american..... this is going to get messy real fast.

Government and laws cannot solve the human dilemma. Choice.

If someone chooses to discriminate and never says it or acts on it publicly there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Welfare does not fix lazy people.

Discrimination laws do keep people from discriminating.

Social programs have helped no one.

Hate crimes have done nothing to help racism.

Gun laws have done nothing to curb gun crimes.

All of these make things worse. If you believe they have then you are part of the problem.
