It's about time!!!

You know they only did this because they need to benchmark the ZR1 against it when it arrives.

You'd NEVER be able to track that one with a helmet. They have really poor headroom.

Good God that interior is hideous! I've always thought that a committee from Lighthouse for the Blind must have designed the exterior styling, but I see that they had help from Stevie Wonder on the interior. Just awful!

I was also surprised by how twitchy the car seemed, compared to other laps I've seen posted from that track. Maybe it was just the driver's style, but it sure seemed a lot less smooth that some other fast times I've seen online. Sounded good, though!

I don't keep up with racing any longer, but I'd like to add my $0.02 worth: As SilverBullit said, that car is way too twitchy! Watching the driver seems like a constant battle with the steering wheel--that's got to be unnerving and exhausting. And what's with the manual shifter? Granted, only a few seconds of lap time are lost with those slow shifts, but a Paddle Shifter wastes no time.

Reminds me of the 1960's when Corvettes with the rock-crusher transmission raced XKEs. The Vette was all noise and screaming rubber and fish-tailing off the line; the Jag's only sign of effort was a gentle lift of the front end. After the race the Vette driver was hot and tired; the Jag driver asked, "Care to do it again, old Chap?".

Before anyone rudely reminds me that Vettes have been out-running Jaguars for decades (or that an XKE weighed considerably less than a 427 Corvette) I'd like to point out that a newer Jag F-Type with a 550 HP engine, Supercharger and Paddle Shifter is one Helluva fast and mannered machine.

2 cents added. Carry on.

May I remind you that the F-Type has much better looking taillights than the C7 does.

C6 and C7 Z06's are twitchy with the stock alignments. With a proper race alignment, they are pussycats. With 685HP/633TQ and 3.73 gears, my car is perfectly neutral with this alignment.

What would be your car's lap time around the 'ring?

Stock C6 Z06 lap time is 7:22.68.

My car is race prepped, 350 pounds lighter (than C6 Z06, 550 pounds lighter than car in video) , sticky tires, race seats, and better gearing, so I'll offer a SWAG of 7:08, but it could be way lower because I don't have the aero drag. The car in the video topped out at 176 mph due to drag, mine would go well beyond that, so hypothetically, it could get as low as 6:59-7:02? My car has 35 more hp, but 17 less tq, but the weight and the prep and tires make a ton of difference.

Again, just guessing.

Track temps make a huge difference in grip as well. That looked early in the morning and a really cold track.
