Do you fear dying alone?

I do not, and as I think more about it, I think I’d actually prefer it. I don’t want a loved one to have to bear witness to that. Why do so many people fear dying alone?

My mom died alone and it still upsets me.....I wish I had been there to at least hold her hand as she started her next journey.

Years ago I had a job where I was traveling a lot. Out 4 nights a week usually only one night in a given hotel. Wake up sometimes and had to think where I was. I didn't want to go alone in some strange hotel room

I have no issue dying alone. Why put others through the pain with me?

I suspect that when it comes to the actual moment of death, none of us will care much whether we're alone or not. I do have fears of the run-up to death, though. My worst fear is to end up in some debilitated state, suffering in some nasty nursing home, with nobody in the world who knows or cares about my situation. I just pray that I have some advance notice before I get into a state like that, so I can make other arrangements to check out under my own terms.

I'd like to go quietly in my sleep like my father and not like the three people inthe car with him screeming as he drove off a cliff.

The thought of death bothers everybody a little bit I think, to varying extents obviously.

The older I get, the less inclined I am to worry about it however. I just don't want to be in a great deal of pain, that's all.

It's not so much fearing dying alone, as just accepting it.

With no kids and all siblings and in-laws being older than me I accept it as a strong possibility
