Second pic looks a lot like the 383 Road Runner my bud in HS owned. There was a bridge on a local back road that acted just like a launch ramp if you hit it at about 50mph. One beer soaked night we tried it at 80... chaos ensued.

Unrelated as it's a Ford.....but I have a 390 cu in hanging on a stand 100% rebuilt to new. I had it done 12-15 years ago by a professional engine builder. It came from a '64 T Bird but I've since junked the body, too much umi body rust for me.....

An old 440 with a cam, and huge carb(s) just feels right for that build IMO.

Cool project too. I have never gone elbows deep in a Mopar before, that was always my brother's wheelhouse. If I was closer, I would definitely volunteer for "garage monkey" duty to learn some new shit!

Have a friend that builds Gassers and races them in SEG association. I think he has started a yt chan. on how to do it - mostly '55 Chevy though. Drills the axle to lighten it, how to square it up, etc...

Built a few 302s,351Cs, 360s, 390s, 460s back in the day......many SBC/BBC. Still got many SBC parts too. Helped with mopars, nice 390 AMX...wont sell it though

Well Ive been playing with this ole Dodge for about a month now. After going thru most of it, Im very pleased to find what great condition this thing is in... Even has factory AC. Im almost tempted not to cut it up as a Gasser...This thing is rock solid and every piece it there. Its in a million parts...but all there.... Now do I put it back together or sell it and get another donor car more fitting to be cut up into a gasser?..
