The last time I was in the USA... I seriously felt out of place..

So many friggin rules..

I think maybe Johnny is kinda getting homesick.

He has made a few post the past few days about the islands and I'm going to guess it wont be long till he is back!

See you when you get back Johnny!

One thing that kinda gets to me is a lot of the stories people hear from old Military guys about the Philippines is the Bars, and the Girls that are local to the old Military bases.

And I admit that many of the stories are true from those areas.. (but not always) and in no way reflect on the rest of the country and the good women here.

I hear you... for the most part, we never got past the areas near the base - and there is always more to a country than what was in those areas (which is unfortunate). You're generally there for a couple of days (maybe for a couple of weeks if you're ship needed repairs) - and that's about all you get to see.

Given the economics of that time, there was a lot of money to be made in supporting those activities so you can understand why that went on.

But it was no where near what Pataya Beach Thailand was like..

Many are true. I've seen them first hand. But it's not only stories that involve wimmens. Lots of humorous/interesting/wouldn't believe unless seen it type stuff. Now, back to the wimmens. Good googly moogly...enough stories to fill volumes and volumes of funny, sad, and almost unbelievable shenanigans went on. Around the base, one had to be on guard at all times due to criminal element. Getting away from the bases was good. The provinces had many genuinely honest and decent people.

I seen so many tropical sandy beaches full of palm trees and various flowers over the decades, I fail to see flying over thousands of miles to do see, there is nothing there SO UNIQUE that it's worth the trip, just head to the BVI/AVI's and even KW one white sandy beach is much same as others.....

UNLESS you get back in the hinterlands on a bike and some native sicks their dawg on you and you have to gun hell outta some scooter to beat it outta there, that memory goes back to about '68 or so.....

I couldn't help but notice in your article posted we made the list for nice beaches..

Quote:
01 | PERFECT BEACHES

The beaches are without a doubt one of the most convincing reasons why you should visit the Philippines in 2015. With a coastline of more than 36,000 km you can expect some of the most beautiful and picturesque beaches in the world.

Here are some of my favorite beaches in the Philippines, click on the links to see an image of that beach:

Calitang Beach, El Nido
Daku Island, Siargao
White Beach, Boracay
Paliton Beach, Siquijor
Guyam Island, Siargao
Sugar Beach, Bantayan
Bounty Beach, Malapascua
Here is a video that shows some of the places here on our island.

Hey Neighbor..

I tried to send you a PM last year but you have them turned off.

If you ever make it up to Cebu City let me know and I will head down there to join you for a few beers.

Takes me an all day trip to get there but if I have a few days notice I will head down that way, we have family in Mandaue.

Or if you ever want to make it on up to Bantayan island we have a guest house here at the beach you are welcome to stay in awhile.
