Time Lapse - Milky Way rising

I shot this a couple months back and have been meaning to post. It was taken at Fort Griffin, an old fort about 2.5 hours west of the DFW area. The ruin in the foreground was once the supply store for the fort.

The video is just a proof of concept. I've been trying to learn how to do these as the good ones are very cool. It's made from about 280 separate 25 second exposures plus frames for the title and credit screens which weren't needed, but I added them as part of the leaning process. Hope to do some more of these, however it *very* time consuming. Each second of video represents about 12 minutes of shooting.

Also, don't know why there's a skip/glitch a few seconds in... doesn't show up in the .avi file so must be a Vimeo thing. Maybe I need to just use YouTube...

The time lapse part is pretty easy but shooting the Milky Way takes some planning - you have to be in a dark location at the right time of the night/month/year to get decent results and of course clouds can ruin everything.
