Question Brake Lights

Have a 63 convertible. When the brakes are applied the clock stops working until the brake pedal is released. If the brakes are applied for an extended period the brake lights stop working along with the clock and the fuse holder gets hot . When a small period of time passes with brakes not applied the clock starts working as well as the brake lights.

Anything here sound familliar, ideas?
