I can't see that happening. I can see happening that Obama refuses to leave the White House if Trump is elected or if Hillary decides not to run. The NBC poll conducted 24-hours ago puts Trump at 61% of the vote and Hillary at 39%.

Don't forget that Julian Assange has promised an October Surprise in his release of Clinton e-mails.

If Obunghole refuses to leave the White House, can he be charged with trespassing?

Fine, I'll run for office.........

I'm going to need you to make a list of the cabinet positions you desire. I'll be as fair as possible.

Wouldn't they place the VP at the top? I mean... Kaine is the one who was deemed best for second-in-command.

Sanders was runner up in the convention; but he wasn't considered qualified enough to be picked for this second-in-command spot.

ya know, I didn't even think of that. But he too was not chosen as Hillarys Presidential backup.

It would look badly if someone other than Kaine would be placed in the front; either a sad commentary on Hillarys choice of Kaine, or a bad commentary to the others for not being chosen themselves.

Oh, I know some would not of accepted a VP opportunity - even if offered; but these were never given the chance (publically) to be asked in the first place.

I think VP choices are terribly chosen, all you need do is remember...

I've been talking to my wife about this. She was worried that they'd replace Hillary in a couple of weeks with someone who wasn't actually almost dead. I reminded her that all the early votes cast for Hillary would be "lost votes", and although this is less of a problem for your typical multiple-voting Democrat voter, it is a real problem for any replacement candidate. You'll really see if the Dems are even considering this if they do a whisper campaign to their base to not vote early.

They won't even consider Kaine. There's no reason for them to, and lots of reasons not to. It would either go to Biden, Sanders, or possibly Warren (to keep a woman at the top of the ballot.) But I'd say 95% they would go Biden, and he'd reluctantly accept with great humility.

wouldn't the registered democrats that participated in the convention selection process get pizzed if Biden was placed in front? I mean, they themselves cast the votes, and Sanders clearly won second place.
Biden didn't even care to run.

The DNC has every right to do just that in the case the candidate drops out of the race for any reason. They could, literally, do away with delegates entirely in the beginning of the convention and just appoint anyone who meets the Constitutional qualification requirements for president. And the way they have their rules and superdelates now, that's what they pretty much do anyway. They pick who they want to win, and the rest is just a big show.

Could Sanders beat Trump?

If Sanders ran, dead people might only need to vote once...or twice at best.

Yeah, pretty much what TxAg just said. When something like that is done (has it ever?) pretty much everyone will be upset at the eventual choice for some reason or another. The only consideration would be to at least find someone plausible (i.e. not Chelsea or some other Clinton insider) because then it would be obvious the president, if elected, would just be a stooge.
