Got a bunch of photos from friends last night; as far south as the Piedmont, NC. Weather should be clear tonight, so I have a date with Baby Doll and the Porch.

I have seen them before when we lived in upstate NY, just south of Syracuse. On a clear night we could see them from our neighbor's farm.

Our son did a project in Longyearbyen, Norway, a few years back. The Lights were above and south of him.

I'm pretty sure they are caused by global warming and will only get worse unless we give our government even more money and let them strip more of our freedoms away.

I had lunch yesterday with a liberal couple I'm good friends with. We do not talk politics since 2018 when things got ugly and we didn't get together again for 6 months or so, in 2019.

So the guy tells me yesterday he read in the WaPo (which I knew he read) that by everybody mowing their lawns and keeping the grass short, it is screwing up the eco-system. We are supposed to just let the grass go wild.

I started LOL literally. I said "You read that in the Washington Post? Why am I not surprised? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard." I couldn't stop laughing, not so much at the claim, but that he (and every other libtard) actually takes this stuff seriously.

He's also too stupid to know that leftist movements -- going back to the French Revolution and every Marxist revolution since -- politicize everything, so he was unwittingly commenting on left-wing politics.
