I don't think you need to include a copy of the receipt. (you don't want nosy folks finding out what's in the box).

Tracking info and a letter stating My attached signature authorizes and acknowledges delivery of ups delivery, tracking # xxx.

That should do it.

I called UPS 2 days before a delivery & was told that only applies after they've attempted to deliver once. They were required to let the driver attempt one delivery first. They would not hold it at the local facility for me to pick up on the delivery date, until after the driver returned with it that evening. As the delivery date was on a Friday & I was headed out of town, I ended up having to wait until Monday to get my package.


FedEx doesn't have this problem, which is one of the reasons I always use them instead.

You cannot pick up packages at our hub. Matter of fact, you can't even call the local hub. And we have a fairly large distribution center. I worked there.

The local facility for me is near Dulles airport. It is only a couple miles from my work, which is why I choose to pick it up rather than having it delivered. It is especially convenient on something that requires a signature.

I don't know what a "hub" is, but the Dulles facility accommodates both sending and receiving on site.
